From Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, the makers of Israel’s first horror film, Rabies, Big Bad Wolves is a technically much more accomplished affair, deftly balancing genres in an expert fashion. Reminiscent of the excellent 7 Days in premise — one early scene in particular prompts pondering of homage — it is strange to find oneself chuckling at a father’s torture of a suspected paedophile, yet so it is; here is a remarkable script that truly belies the writers’ inexperience, never missing a beat. It is going to be exciting to observe the pair’s development.
